Most 5 year olds are in our 4-5T or 5-6T, depending on height. We usually recommend sizing up in our boxers so size up one to two sizes from their usual bottoms size. A slightly roomy waistband is far more comfortable than a tight one.

Boxer briefs have a longer leg that sits mid-thigh, which stops riding up under trousers and reduces chafing during active play. Most kids make the switch once they're fully potty trained and running around all day.
